My history
While living in
Bedford, New York and headed into prep school at
the age of 15, I was given a predictive test to
determine which career would be right for me?
The answer: headhunter.
Over the next 10 years I took similar tests and
each time the test results revealed that my best
career choice was to be a headhunter (executive
search, if you prefer, but I like to call it
what it is!).
After graduating from Smith College in
Massachusetts back in the early ‘90s, I
relocated to Texas I found myself answering
search firms ads to fill finance positions. The
first place I went offered me a job on the spot
recruiting accountants. This is how I entered
the chaotic world of executive search.
After one year of placing Big Six accountants I
moved to a national brokerage search firm in
Houston. Three years or recruiting taught me
what I felt I needed to know and knew there was
a better way of doing things. So in 1997 I
started Courtney Raymond Consultants (CRC).
CRC was founded on the basis of integrity, doing
what’s right for both the candidate and client;
hard work, and having an appreciation for our
candidate’s various stages in life and their
personal goals and desires.
Each year we have grown placing more candidates
than the year before and in bringing on more
recruiters. Although growing a brings its own
challenges and rewards, I love my job,
co-workers, and the controlled chaos of the
markets.
Mostly, I love making people’s lives better. It
is for this reason, I believe, that we are the
best firm to assist you in finding what’s “best”
in your “next” stage of life. Personally, I
believe everyone should have balance in their
life; a career you love, people around you who
support and respect you, and boundless
opportunities for you to grow laid out before
you.
It is my personal desire and everyone at this
firm to do whatever we can to assist you in
achieving or exceeding your next career goal.
